Le Mas des Graviers and Environs
Le Mas Des Graviers, a traditional wine growing estate, situated
25 km east of Aix en Provence, is nesteled in the foothills of Mont Sainte
Victoire. The 18th century farmhouse, and it's surroundings, are a little
piece of Provencal heaven. It was Norwegian oceanographer Jan Olaf Willums
who bought and renovated it in 1993. Each year the estate which is often
featured in international magazines about Provence, hosts exhibitions by
renowned and young artists. The traditional farm house offers more than
600 m2 of living space and is surrounded by a 3 acre garden of Mediterranean
flowers, trees and lavender fields. Mulberry trees, planted 120 years ago
and a 200 year old oak tree offer shade during the heat of the day. There
is a large swimming pool and a tennis court. There is a Bechstein grande
piano in the music room and the art gallery can also be used as a class
room. A small production of 35 thousand bottles of wine are sold each year
in Europe. Labels created using artists
works shown at the gallery are featured on a select edition called "Cuvee des
Artistes." This picture perfect home, in the area where Cezanne lived and
painted is the perfect place to create and the professional gallery on the
estate will provide the perfect place to show our
paintings.
