Inspiration Tours 2005 Join
us for our ninth trip to France
Paint, Tour, Live In Provence at LE
MAS DE GRAVIERS (Click for additional information)
Paint in Provence where Cezanne and Van Gogh did.
Spend the first two weeks of June (June 4 - June 18, 2005) in the tiny Provencal Village of
Pourierer,
France. We live in the beautiful MAS DES GRAVIERS, an 18th century
converted farm house, surrounded by flowering gardens.
for a view of it's lovely garden. Completely renovated in 1993 by a Norwegian
owner, this vacation home offers convenience and comfort while retaining the
flavor of its origins. This magnificent property boasts lavender fields,
vineyard and a view of Mt.St. Victoire. It is often
featured in magazines around the world as it is one of the most beautiful homes
in Provence.
The group will
take
lessons from local French art teachers and visit the studios of welcoming
French artists and sculptors.
 Tours
in the surrounding area will bring you to the lake of St. Croix, or the
magnificent Gorge du Verdon
(the Grand Canyon of France) or the incredible village of
Moustiere. When
we are not painting on our property we travel to villages in the mountains and
along the coast. We visit artists
in their studios and galleries, and take photos of the inspiring countryside to
paint from when we are back home.
A group of
9
artists will be provided a
private room and shared bath, most meals, ground transportation, classes and art supplies.
There will be painting sessions in the garden and in the
surrounding area. The fee for a two week stay is $3,000. All
participants make their own flight arrangements.
Visits to museums (Click
Here), and galleries, inspire
us to create our best work.

Le Mas des Graviers and Environs
Le
Mas Des Graviers, a traditional wine growing estate, situated 25 km east of Aix
en Provence, is nestled in the foothills of Mont Sainte Victoire. The
18th century farmhouse, and it's surroundings, are a little piece of Provencal
heaven. It was Norwegian oceanographer Jan Olaf Willums who bought and
renovated it in 1993. Each year the estate which is often featured in
international magazines about Provence, hosts exhibitions by renowned
and young
artists. The traditional farm house offers more than 600 m2 of living
space and is surrounded by a 3 acre garden of Mediterranean flowers, trees and
lavender fields. Mulberry trees, planted 120 years ago and a 200 year old
oak tree offer shade during the heat of the day. There is a large swimming
pool and a tennis court. There is a Bechstein grande piano in the music
room and the art gallery can also be used as a class room. A small
production of 35 thousand bottles of wine are sold each year in Europe.
Labels created using artists works shown at
the gallery are featured on a select edition called "Cuvee des
Artistes." This picture perfect home, in the area where Cezanne lived
and painted is the perfect place to create and the professional gallery on the
estate will provide the perfect place to show our paintings.
